A flirtatious & fun Byrd Park Engagement Session with two college sweethearts!
Lauren & Tommy met during their junior and senior years of college at Virginia Tech. At the time they were both interns. Little did they know they actually shared a class prior to meeting! I don’t know about you, but to me, it sounds like their paths were fated to cross each other!
The bride and groom-to-be have now been by each other’s side for nearly 6 years. During that time they have truly enjoyed each stage of their relationship as they experience it. For Lauren and Tommy, time is their currency and they have made the most of every moment together. From dating, moving in together, getting a dog, being engaged, buying a home, and now, getting married!
Once Tommy was ready to make it official and ask for Lauren’s hand in marriage, he got her sister Rachel in on the surprise! Tommy and Lauren were hosting Rachel and her husband for a weekend at their former home in Arlington. The night was planned with a romantic dinner at Filomena in DC when Rachel mentioned that the couples should head to Hains Point to watch the sunset before dinner. As the two couples were having fun and taking photos of the gorgeous view, Tommy turned to Lauren and got down on one knee to propose! And a special shout out to Lauren’s sister Rachel, because she captured the whole thing!
On top of the beautifully planned surprise proposal, Tommy also planned a huge surprise engagement party the following day at his parents’ house in Fairfax, VA. All of their closest friends and family were in attendance, including Lauren’s parents who traveled to come celebrate with them!
When it was time for us to meet for their Byrd Park Engagement Session, Lauren and Tommy arrived prepared, but a bit nervous. However, they totally leaned into it and let go of their insecurities, and we made some magic! We had so much fun walking around the park, cracking jokes, and laughing the whole time!
