It was a crisp, sunny day in March that Emily and John vowed their lives to each other in front of their closest friends and family. I couldn’t have been more honored to photograph their special day and witness the unconditional love they have for each other. Emily was absolutely breathtaking in her elegant lace wedding dress from BHLDN. It was romantic and delicate complimenting her radiant and joyous spirit that day.
Havana 59
The ceremony was held at a traditional catholic church in Richmond, Virginia followed by a reception at Havana 59. They chose this location because they felt the vibe fit their guests’ personality, and it was a great way to showcase downtown Richmond for those traveling from out of town. Havana 59 offers such a quirky, fun atmosphere, and it came to no surprise that Emily and John chose this location to celebrate their nuptials. The bridesmaids wore burgundy formal dresses while the groomsmen wore rich, navy suits. The florist, Nicole Flora, incorporated these colors into a wider palette of peach, oranges, and hot pinks. The tropical multi-color flowers popped against the burgundy and navy tones of the wedding party. The colors complemented the start of spring so perfectly.
A Sacred Vow
After the evening was over, I asked Emily and John about their favorite part of day. They both agreed that saying their wedding vows to one another was by far the best memory of the day. There was also a moment at the reception they will never forget. When they finally sat down to eat at the reception, they looked around the room and were both overcome with emotion as they watched everyone they loved laughing, eating, drinking and having an awesome time. There is something to authentic and special when all the people you love join together to celebrate in all your glory.
The Honeymoon Phase
Emily and John’s wedding day was an absolute dream. The whole day was filled with beaming smiles and laughter. It was a joyous celebration, and a day that many will always remember. The two lovebirds will be adventuring to Mal Pais in Costa Rica for their honeymoon where their story begins as husband and wife. Congratulations to the beautiful couple!!
