Richmond VA Engagement Photo Session Monument Ave | Marie & Patrick

Marie & Patrick’s Richmond VA Engagement Photo Session took place on Monument ave with lots of sunshine and a little bit of rain!

Marie and Patrick met in a very modern-day type of way. Where else but a dating app of course! The couple met on Bumble when Marie went to DC for her work as a travel nurse. Marie is bubbly and outgoing, and a total type A! Patrick is the more relaxed one of the couple and has an incredibly positive personality.

Before I shot their engagement photos, I made sure to get the scoop on how the proposal went down! Patrick took Marie to the Hotel Roanoke, a historic Tudor-style hotel built-in 1882. The hotel just so happens to be in Marie’s hometown, but she never had the opportunity to stay there until Patrick booked the couple a room over Thanksgiving. When Marie opened the door to their room she found dozens of roses and lilies. Among the flowers, a card was tucked inside that read “Marie, will you marry me?” Marie turned around to find Patrick down on one knee. So romantic!! After she said yes, the newly engaged couple enjoyed a bottle of champagne that was placed in their room for the special occasion. They later continued their celebration by visiting Marie’s family and bringing them the exciting news!

For their Richmond VA engagement photo session, the couple was looking for something romantic and intimate. What they ended up getting was romantic, intimate, enchanting, bright, and rainy all in one! Their session took place in July along a strip of historic homes in Richmond. We were aiming for a sunset photoshoot but the summer showers decided to sneak in and make an appearance of their own! The couple was so great about the rain and they totally rocked their shoot as they kissed each other lovingly under a clear umbrella!
