Havana 59 offered the perfect spot to showcase the tradition, spontaneity, and joy that infuses Aaron & Niki’s life together.

Dancing in the Streets

The couple met at a Jewish community dinner in San Francisco where they both live. The magical evening didn’t end there. It was followed by an impromptu gin tasting at an Indian restaurant. And ended with dancing in the streets of the Mission to Aaron’s Spotify playlist.

Two Enthusiastic Thumbs Up

When it came time to propose, Aaron asked Niki’s mother, Barbara for permission and blessing to marry her daughter. The mother of the bride-to-be gave “two enthusiastic thumbs up.” The next day, Aaron and Barbara’s partner, Joe, a jeweler, started their work together to custom design the perfect ring for the perfect girl.

She Said Yes!

The ring arrived just ten days before Aaron and Niki set off for vacation. Aaron carried the ring in his pocket for 10 days, across volcanoes and glacial valleys, before proposing to Niki at sunset at the Milford Sound in New Zealand, a stunning Unesco World Heritage site at the end of New Zealand. She said yes!

Coming Home

Niki wanted to return to her hometown of Richmond, Virginia for the engagement photos.The couple chose Havana 59 as their engagement shoot location to capture her hometown, including her favorite River view and the site of their rehearsal dinner where they also accepted the hard task of taste-testing the speciality mojitos.

No Recipes

Havana 59 was also the perfect spot to capture the couple’s love of life. They love spending time in nature, traveling to Lake Tahoe, cooking together without recipes. Niki and Aaron make the most of each moment.

Niki loves the “‘in between time’ – the unglamorous moments that happen between being all dressed up and going out – where real life happens and you can appreciate the different strengths each of you brings to the relationship.”
