Finally got these pictures of from my recent trip to Birmingham, England where I worked with an organization called Betel. Betel is a Christian based organization that brings in former addicts off the streets, loves them, and helps them regain their lives back. Our job (Grace Covenant Church) was to pray for them, encourage and do the daily job/tasks that they do everyday. We thought that we would just be helping out but little did we know that God would change our lives forever and reveal Himself in marvelous ways.
Just arriving with a bit of jet lag.
Breakfast with the ladies was always a blessing.
Part of our job was to go along with the Betelitos and help them with their daily tasks. We passed out flyers to promote their gardening and tree cutting business.
The couples were praying before the Couples Retreat. The retreat was a gift from our team to the couples founded in the program.
Church was always moving.
Spa night with the ladies started off with Chinese. It was yummy!!
We had a spa night for the ladies in the program. Some had never experienced this before and were truly touched.
We played a game called White Elephant.
Thats me! Working hard at sanding wood. I actually have some skills in this area now!
Some of the team and some of the girls from Betel.
Furniture gets donated, and Betel refurnishes it, makes it pretty then resells it. The profits go directly to the organization.
My new friend Steve. He loved Native Americans and asked me a ton of questions.
Betel threw us a BBQ, and we introduced Corn Hole to them!
Aren’t my team members pretty!?
You know how much I love dogs and found one on this trip. We became buds.
Making quilts for a huge festival coming up to bring in money to fund the program.
This was another branch of Betel called Darby located out in the country side. It was gorgeous!
Dre was pumped for our day out with the team. First stop was the Cotswolds, which is one of the oldest villages still lived in, in England. Then off to a tea room.
Improv photo shoot (always have to get those in).
Stratford on Avon (Shakespeare’s home).
Wanted to show you where I stayed. I will miss the girl’s house!
Last night of worship with Betel and it was amazing!
Kent and Mary Alice are the leaders of Betel Britian. Their hearts are so vibrant and loving. We prayed for them before we left and thanked them for having us.
