The Congressional Country Club is by far one of the most prominent country clubs in the US. Founding
The Congressional Country Club was founded in 1921. Congressmen Oscar E. Bland and O.R. Luhring of Indiana saw the need to build a space where members of Congress could meet socially with businessmen on important matters of state. Though other clubs were already in existence at that time, the congressmen felt they were more specialized in serving local Washingtonians versus members of Congress who would require a private space where they could attend to important matters. Since its inception, the club has become synonymous with hosting US presidents as members. This includes previous visiting members Presidents Coolidge, Taft, Hoover, Wilson, and Harding.
Congressional Country Club Wedding
In order to host a wedding at the Congressional Country Club, you must be a member in good standing. Or, you must be hosted by a current member. The Congressional Country Club is one of the most exclusive golf country clubs in the country and the wait list to join is extensive. The initiation fee to join is currently priced at $180,000 with annual dues of $15,000 owed therein.
A wedding at the renowned club is one evoking exquisite detail and grandeur. The experience begins upon entry when you and your guests will be met with the opulent Spanish Colonial facade of the building. Upon entering the ballroom, you’ll be met with refined details such as vaulted ceilings. Congressional Country Club offers multiple spaces to host your ceremony and reception either indoors or against the sprawling backdrop of their expansive rolling hills. In total, the Congressional Country Club has the ability to host weddings with up to 250 guests in attendance.

As with most venues, the total cost of your Congressional Country Club wedding will vary and be dependent on a number of factors. This includes your total guest count, menu, and design and decor. However, you can expect the total starting cost of your Congressional Country Club wedding to begin at $60,000.
