The Manchester Bridge is a treasure for Richmond locals. You can reach Belle Isle via a suspension bridge that connects to the island off the James River. From Belle Isle, you can see Richmond City’s urban skyline and the Hollywood Cemetery. The large rocks, rolling waters, and verdant landscape offers dynamic scenery for engagement shoots. We ventured to Belle Isle for Abby and James’ engagement session not only for its beauty but it also happens to be where they first began dating.

A Walk to Remember

Back in 2018, James and Abby went on a long walk exploring Belle Isle. During that walk, James brought up his feelings toward Abby, and she reciprocated by holding her arm inside of his. Their story didn’t begin there though. They have actually known each other for years. They first met at bible study back in 2013. Through their profound love of Christ they grew a deep fondness for each other rooted in faith and love.

Hearts In A Parallel Line

In my profession, I have the pleasure of meeting copious amounts of loving couples. I always love getting to know my clients, and I never tire of hearing how the couple feels about one another. James and Abby’s love is so sincere and heartfelt. Abby love’s James’ compassion and care for other people. His character shows in all he does, extending through his work and relationships. James loves Abby’s character and her teddy heart. He loves how she smiles when he’s romantic and makes endearing face’s whenever he’s being silly. They complete each other through and through. Less than a year of dating James knew Abby was the one.

Baby, Be Mine

In March 2019, James proposed to Abby on the back deck of her house. He played “their song” Parallel Line by Keith Urban, reminisced over their time together, talked about what the future could hold, and asked her to marry him. She said yes, of course! The two will be getting married next year at Holyfield Manor. Looking forward to capturing their love and commitment to each other on their wedding day, but for now, enjoy some of my favorite images from their engagement session!

As a mother of two, I am very familiar with how quickly life’s most important moments fly by too quickly. I will calmly and seamlessly guide you through frames that will endure. I strive to capture your memories with one-of-a-kind images full of meaning. I cannot wait to connect with you!

I bring all of these elements to my time with my couples. With over a decade of experience in the industry, I know how to gently guide you through poses that are natural and beautiful. The transition into this sentence doesn’t make sense. Throughout your day, you will feel the love from those there to celebrate
you two.
When I’m not photographing weddings, I enjoy long walks in the neighborhood with my husband, my kiddos Tuxie and Sunny, and my labradoodle Hokie.. Also, I am a huge dog-lover! I’m pretty sure heaven is full of dogs. I can’t wait to connect with you, and yes, your pup is always welcome here!
