As a Richmond Newborn Photographer capturing tiny fingers and tiny toes just lights up my heart! It always amazes me how those little moments of babies sleeping with their sweet toes dangling can be so breathtaking.
I had the joy of capturing little Miss Lucy, and she was such a doll! Mom Erin and Dad Ashby chose to document Lucy’s newborn photos at home because that’s where they began their life as a family of 3 together (4 if you count their dog Harley!), and they wanted to bottle up this stage of their life. I love the sentiment behind choosing their home as the location!
Lucy’s name was given just as much thought when they picked it out. Lucy is a family name on Dad’s side of the family and they just loved how Lucy means ‘light’. Miss Lucy also has two middle names! One chosen from Mom’s side of the family, which is the 4th generation in a row with that given middle name. And another middle name picked from Dad’s side of the family. Isn’t that so sweet?!
Little Miss Lucy has quite the developing personality for such a tiny girl! Her mom describes her as very curious and alert. Also, she loves interacting with Mom and Dad with laughs and smiles. And she is totally in love with their dog Harley! So of course, being the dog lover that I am, I had to make sure that Harley was included in this session! Mom and Dad’s favorite part of becoming new parents has been watching Lucy grow every day and seeing her sweet and happy personality develop.
I asked Mom & Dad what piece of advice they would give to expecting parents, here’s what they had to say:
“Be prepared to be adjustable and go with the flow – can’t control or predict a lot!”
