These senior portraits in Richmond VA with Ava was a delightful afternoon. We spent our time together frolicking in the park and enjoying the local wildlife. Ava is soaking up every single moment of her senior year. Including those coveted ‘lasts’ with each of her friends before they go their separate ways for college. Also, a big part of Ava’s life is her loving and supportive family; and, of course, her beloved furbabies (pictured below) who have all been by her side as she prepares to graduate.
When her senior year draws to a close, Ava will be attending Longwood University where she was accepted into the nursing program. She loved the idea of attending school close to home and Longwood was her top choice school. Ava was over the moon to be accepted into the honors college. When asked about the nursing program, Ava confided that she has wanted to be a nurse since she was a child. She is beyond excited to start this next chapter in her life. So, to mark the occasion, she reached out to me to schedule her senior portraits in Richmond VA.
Senior Portraits Richmond VA
After browsing through endless inspiration, Ava fell in love with the idea of capturing her senior portraits in a field. She loved the ethereal, whimsical, and airy aesthetic of being in nature where overgrown grass and wildflowers would fill the frame of her senior portraits. Furthermore, we also needed an outdoor location where her furbabies could join in the session. Ava’s three pups, a fox terrier (Kate), a mini doodle pup (Maverick), and a chocolate labradoodle (Luna) were all present when Ava stepped in front of the camera. Personally, I am a big fan of celebrating life’s milestones with your four-legged family members present, so I was on board to curate Ava’s whimsical and ethereal senior portraits in Richmond VA.
Ava’s personality is vibrant and bubbly, she is full of life and a people person through and through. Perhaps it’s the reason that led to her securing the title of homecoming queen at her school and honoring her graduating class by taking part in the parade. When the day of her shoot arrived, the weather blessed us with heaps of golden rays pouring down over the vegetation. Usually, the addition of natural light is more than enough to make magic for senior portraits. But there was one other delightful moment in store for Ava. A monarch butterfly floated its way into her photoshoot. Landing on the wildflowers and just within reach of Ava this majestic creature surprisingly graced us with its presence.
Richmond Senior Photographer
My goal as Ava’s Richmond senior photographer was simple. Allow her to enjoy this moment. Soak up all that was coming her way, while honoring the years spent toiling away, studying, and enjoying the unforgettable moments of her adolescence. I am beyond honored to have worked with Ava on this significant turning point in her life, and I wish her all the best as she heads off to Longwood University.
