Brides, in the midst of all of the planning & stress, remember these two things : Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. All that truly matters is the commitment you are making to your husband and God on your wedding day.

Okay there it is, easy right? Not so much. A lot of things happen when planning a wedding and there are so many distractions that can get your sidetracked from what is truly important. Let me go into detail a little more about these two pieces of advice.

1) Opinions are like buttholes, everyone has one. EVERYONE is going to want to give you their two cents on how your wedding day should go. Yes, I’m sure they mean well, but it can be very stressful. You feel as if you are being pulled in every direction! All you have to do is nod your head and say, “Thank You!”. REMEMBER – this is YOUR day. If you want to get married parachuting out of a plane, DO IT! If you want paper plates at your wedding, I don’t see why not!? EVEN IF someone else is paying, there are ways to kindly explain your heart. You express your gratefulness and then you share what your ideas are and why they mean something to you.  What do you and your fiancé truly want for that day?  What defines you two? Your wedding day only comes once, and you need to do it HOW YOU WANT with NO REGRETS. Feelings may get hurt but you CANNOT control others feelings. You can only control yourself.

2) All that truly matters is you, your man, and God. When I was planning my wedding, I got caught up in Pinterest. Pinterest is THE DEVIL, STAY AWAY. My thoughts started off simple, then slowly my wedding turned into one big DIY project. I thought, “If I can submit all of my pretty detailed images to a wedding blog I will be so happy.” WHOAAAA, did I have to check myself! It’s not about the pretty pictures, the painted mason jars, the cupcake stand or even finding the perfect dress, it’s about you and your future husband. Getting on Pinterest, reading bridal magazines, and dabbling in the world of weddings is okaaaaaay IN MODERATION. Actually, probably less then moderation. I focused on the weather and found myself checking the weather everyday (maybe three times a day) for rain and freaking out up until the wedding day. I NEVER thought I would be one of “those” brides who got obsessed with perfecton, but I did. With amazing bridesmaids and an awesome mom to remind me of truth, I calmed down and got back to my core; God. I had to remind myself why I was getting married. It certainly was NOT to have my images submitted to wedding blogs (the photographer in me got a little out of control). I was getting married to have a partner in life, become one, and glorify the Lord as a team. Once I redirected my focus back to God, Dre and myself there was peace. That day I waited for, forever was amazing because I knew what was most important.

HI SUNSHINE!

I'M NICKI

I see the beauty in imperfect things. As a Christ-follower, faith is central to my life, work, and connections. I am fueled by joy, known for my bubbly and sunny disposition, and always with a warm hug. Imperfect beauty inspires my love for all things vintage, abstract art, and real love stories. I love moments full of grit and emotion; life off the beaten path; stunning views along the shore; and the juxtaposition of New York grunge and laid back Cali-vibe.

As a mother of two, I am very familiar with how quickly life’s most important moments fly by too quickly. I will calmly and seamlessly guide you through frames that will endure. I strive to capture your memories with one-of-a-kind images full of meaning. I cannot wait to connect with you!

I bring all of these elements to my time with my couples. With over a decade of experience in the industry, I know how to gently guide you through poses that are natural and beautiful. The transition into this sentence doesn’t make sense. Throughout your day, you will feel the love from those there to celebrate
 you two.
When I’m not photographing weddings, I enjoy long walks in the neighborhood with my husband, my kiddos Tuxie and Sunny, and my labradoodle Hokie.. Also, I am a huge dog-lover! I’m pretty sure heaven is full of dogs. I can’t wait to connect with you, and yes, your pup is always welcome here!
