A joyful Byrd Park engagement photoshoot at Carillon Amphitheatre.
Grace and Brandon seemed so at home with each other and their surroundings at Byrd Park. The location for their engagement photoshoot was chosen because it embodies all that lies at the heart of Richmond. It’s beautiful, historic, and above all, unique.
Grace and Brandon’s story begins with a chance meeting during their days at Radford University, in the darkroom. At the time, Brandon was shooting film photography as his preferred medium. He went to the darkroom to pick up some prints that were drying when Grace walked in. Their chance meeting in the dark room brought them back together the following semester when they shared a class together.
Separately, Grace and Brandon’s personality are starkly different. Brandon’s soul is quiet and arrives at well-thought-out decisions. However, Grace is an outgoing free spirit. Their love comes together in a way that is balanced; where they create their own commentary on life and mix adventure with experiences.
It was during a trip to Colorado Springs that would find Grace and Brandon solidified their commitment to each other. On a hike at the Garden of the Gods, during golden hour when the sun is the perfect reflection of warm tones, Brandon got down on one knee to propose to Grace.
Knowing that this beautiful couple has their own eye for photography, it was easy for me to put together the narrative of their Byrd Park engagement photoshoot. Every natural element and beautiful tone worked its way into their story. Creating engagement photos where every slight touch and every tender embrace embodied the love that Grace and Brandon share.
