The weather was imperfect, but that didn’t stop Megan & Grady’s, Harrisonburg wedding from being beyond gorgeous. When we arrived the sun was shining brightly, and there was a soft breeze in the air. Megan and Grady were getting married outside and their ceremony site overlooking the Blue Ridge mountains was breathtaking. Everything was going according to plan except the dark clouds rolling in. We prayed for a sprinkle and got a down pour, a downpour that lasted several hours. We waited, and waited to proceed with the ceremony outside, but that wasn’t an option. There wasn’t enough umbrella’s to cover the crowd or enough dry seats to sit on. We moved the ceremony site inside and it couldn’t have gone more perfect. As Megan walked down the aisle, she turned the corner and her face lit up like I had never seen before. Her smile radiated and her joy spread like a wildfire. She was becoming a wife today and that was the most important thing. Megan and Grady didn’t need the sunshine to make the day amazing, they brought the sunshine to their wedding. The weather certainly wasn’t going to rain on their parade! The most beautiful part of the day was after the ceremony. The rain stopped (go figure) and there was a mist amongst the mountains. I asked Megan and Grady if they wanted to go grab some pictures at the ceremony site. As they walked in front of me I couldn’t help but notice the significance of what was happening, which I brought to their attention. The rain had stopped, and they were finally able to walk down their real aisle. It was truly a beautiful moment and a beautiful day at that.
