For their Richmond Virginia wedding, Ashley and Tommy chose the Virginia Museum of History and Culture. As a lover of art myself, I adore how they incorporated the local culture and history into their wedding. It was definitely a statement wedding with royal purple color tones, beautiful marble architecture and, of course, a day that simply overflowed with happiness.
About the Virginia Museum of History and Culture
Before 2018, the Virginia Museum of History and Culture was known as the Virginia Historical Society. It is an amazing resource for the history of Virginia. It’s hard to find a better place to experience the entirety of the history of Virginia. The museum is also an excellent location to book all sorts of events including weddings like Tommy and Ashley’s. A museum might sound like a counterintuitive place for a wedding but as theirs shows, it couldn’t have been better. Like I mentioned, I am obsessed by how they blended history and culture with their own love story. The museum’s huge theater auditorium was amazing for their movie-like wedding ceremony.
The Happiest Couple
As you can see in their photos, Ashley and Tommy were one of the happiest couples I have had the privilege to photograph. Their Richmond Virginia wedding photos give me all the feels. I was so thankful to be a part of their wedding! The sun was shining and there was a smile on every face. Ashley and Tommy share an interest in movies, video games and other nerd culture. So, the Historical Society was the perfect backdrop for the theme of the wedding: “Our Night at the Museum.” Tying in with the movie theme, Ashley even walked down the isle over a red carpet! Too cool.
A gorgeous wedding party with royal purple hues
The wedding party was an absolute honor to work with. Their handpicked outfits mixed with the purple color palette was breathtaking. The muted purple made its debut with the bridesmaid dresses, bouquets and boutonnieres alike. And do you see that gorgeous wedding dress with its stunning belt? Ashley was glowing through it all.
An exquisite Richmond Virginia wedding
Thanks of course to Ashley and Tommy as well as to the Virginia Museum of History and Culture.
