The Estate at River Run is an exquisite wedding venue located just outside Richmond VA in Maidens. The convenient location, nestled between Richmond and Charlottesville, provides easy access for couples and their guests. Additionally, the venue is a sprawling mansion estate with a riverside terrace and ornate Georgian revival architecture. Weddings at The Estate at River Run take place on an expansive terrace overlooking the river. While celebrations are held indoors at the mansion’s elaborate ballroom.
When they first laid eyes on The Estate at River Run, Courtney and Shy knew they had found their wedding venue. The venue perfectly encompassed everything they were looking for to host their once-in-a-lifetime wedding day celebration. From the blue terrace to the poolside options, The Estate at River Run was, decidedly, where they would become husband and wife.
A Chance Meeting & A Libby Hill Engagement
The couple met while attending Radford University. At the time, Courtney and Shy were both living in Muse Hall, on the exact same floor. It was on their first date, that they would connect on a deeper level. Courtney was attending a sorority ball when a friend of a friend brought Shy along. From there, they spent the weekend getting to know each other, lost in deep conversation and gazing at the stars. They quickly became enamored, eventually falling head over heels in love.
Deeply in love and enjoying all that life has to offer Shy hatched a plan to ask Courtney to be his wife. Courtney loves to unplug and get outdoors taking in the air and enjoying new sights with her pup by her side. Knowing her love for exploring new places with her furbaby, Twinkie, by her side, Shy decided to take Courtney to Libbie Hill on an adventure. It was then that he asked for Courtney’s hand in marriage.
A Vibrant Wedding at The Estate at River Run
Seven years later, on the same weekend as their engagement, Courtney and Shy were married at The Estate at River Run. Their thoughtfully planned wedding day was a vibrant color palette of peaches and pinks, yellows and blues. The tones perfectly encapsulate their springtime garden-themed wedding, adding a touch of vibrance to the atmosphere. The beautiful colors and thoughtfully planned details were only rivaled by the joyous personalities of those in attendance. Courtney described Shy as ‘her sunshine’, but together, they are both glowing beacons of light, spreading love and warmth to those around them.
The Estate At River Run Photos
So many of Courtney and Shy’s wedding day details at their venue were bold and overt. However, overall, there was a tone of whimsy and delicacy beautifully tying everything together. It was easy to see that Courtney and Shy had spent so much of their time throughout the wedding planning process, carefully considering how the details of their day would impact the overall design. But also how those details would allow the celebration of their wedding day to be immersive and memorable for them and their guests.
Working on their wedding day photos at The Estate at River Run while capturing the details for Courtney and Shy was a blissful experience. But also, I kept my focus on capturing the moments that were bubbling over with happiness and glee. It was a memorable night where two college sweethearts were joined in marriage, with a night full of festivities. Do you want to take a peek inside their wedding?
