This weekend was amazing with a fabulous date night with the hubby at Stella’s, a beautiful Powhatan Wedding with 88 Love Stories, and some cardinals laying eggs outside of my house! I know, a total mix of a million things but seriously- a good weekend.

Since we got married, Dre and I have always made an effort to designate Friday nights as “Date Night”. Its hard throughout the week to spend time together so we always try to do something fun on Friday nights- whether that be eating dinner somewhere, staying in and cooking, or doing something fun and local. No matter how crazy the week has been we know that we can always count on Friday nights to spend quality time together and catch up on the week! Btw- we went to Stella’s – an amazing Greek restaurant in the Fan (seriously an absolute treat to go there!).

So I am an ABSOLUTE ANIMAL LOVER if you haven’t already noticed!!! I’m so weird I kind of like bugs too (I always take them outside and don’t kill them except for the Silver Fish that SCARE ME TO DEATH. Those get the death penalty in our house). We have a lot of animals outside of our house which I think is a blessing. I am always watching out of our windows at the squirrels, chipmunks, and the birds. Little did I know there are some cardinals who have built a nest right outside of our living room!!! Dre and I have been watching them and WE JUST DISCOVERED SOME EGGS! They are so hard to see (I’m trying to keep my distance when I take pictures). The picture of the eggs is with the window open and the picture of the mamma is with the window closed. This mamma cardinal brings SO MUCH JOY to my heart!!! I will try to keep you posted and hopefully get some pictures of the babies!!!

Lastly, I shot a wedding with my fabulous wedding photographer, and amazing friend, James Lee of 88 Love Stories!!! Whenever he needs an assistant he can always count on me to come!!! This wedding was in Powhatan and such a fun one!!! Heidi, the bride was an absolute sweetheart and can I just say GORGEOUS??? Her colors were different shades of purple which was so perfect for spring. I can’t wait to show you all more on the blog!!!

When I’m not photographing weddings, I enjoy long walks in the neighborhood with my husband, my kiddos Tuxie and Sunny, and my labradoodle Hokie.. Also, I am a huge dog-lover! I’m pretty sure heaven is full of dogs. I can’t wait to connect with you, and yes, your pup is always welcome here!
