Erika and Stephen’s wedding in Ashland, Virginia was beyond beautiful. This was my first February wedding so I was hoping and praying for snow. I thought it would be absolutely romantic and totally set the scene for some gorgeous pictures. Well we got the complete opposite and let me tell you – It was the most perfect spring weather EVER. We spent so much time outside that day and we couldn’t be more grateful for the blessing of beautiful weather!! We walked up and down train tracks and all around the cutest little touristy spots of Ashland. What a great place for a wedding!? Who would have ever thought!
I was so excited to spend the day with Erika!! It had been ages since we saw each other (We worked together at the Texas Roadhouse in Harrisonburg, Virginia). I always adored Erika. She had such a warm, bubbly personality that was so accepting and loving of others. Her energy was extremely contagious!!! When she contacted me to do her wedding I was beyond overjoyed!!! Her engagement session and wedding confirmed everything I thought about her – – She was still sweet Erika. She certainly found a catch in Stephen and they are two peas in a pod; Both dog lovers, and extremely athletic. Did I mention they met during kickball?
I loved everything about this wedding but two things stuck out in my mind as being pretty awesome – First off, their dog Chief was with them all day ( you know I love me some dogs). Secondly, Erika’s bouquet and centerpieces were made from cotton that they picked together on Stephen’s grandfather’s farm. There was so much emotion, and heart put into this wedding and I was honored to be part of it!
