“They were officially introduced at a friend’s wedding back in 2010, however, were lucky enough to meet again in Las Vegas the following year when Whitney was there for spring break from Mizzou and Curtis was there to visit his friends while stateside from Okinawa. That trip was over too soon, then Curtis returned to Okinawa and Whitney had to finish her final semester of college. After hours of skype and countless emails, trips were planned to DC, Vegas (again) and Missouri. Curtis finally came home from Okinawa after finishing his time in the USMC, and after a few short months in MO, they were off to North Carolina to embark on a new journey. Fast forward through a few years of North Carolina living, and it was July 2015. Whitney’s best college friend was visiting from MO for a long weekend and the girls were all downtown for the occasion. Curtis had just gotten off work and met up with the girls and very shortly after popped the question, and she said “Really?!”, then shortly followed with “YES!” .”
I was so excited to head down to Raleigh for my second, yes I repeat, only SECOND time in North Carolina. I don’t count the OBX because everyone has been there. Each time I fall more and more in love with this state. I was pumped because I was going to shoot the engagement session of a former co worker who I hadn’t seen in forever! Curtis and I use to work at the Texas Roadhouse together back in my serving days! I remember Curtis always making me laugh! He then headed off to the military but I believe everything happens for a reason. If Curtis was never in the military than he would never have visited his friends where he met Whitney! During the session I quickly became obsessed with the roses. Every color you could imagine of roses were in that garden!! How fitting to document this sweet couples love story in a bed or roses?? Congrats Whitney & Curtis!!
