As a Richmond Newborn Photographer, I loved capturing baby Caroline along with her Mom & Dad!
I met with baby Carolines Mom and Dad on the campus of St. Christopher’s school in Richmond to capture some sweet moments between the family of 3. Mom and Dad chose this location for their shoot because it holds a special place for both of them. Dad attended St. Christopher’s in his youth and mom attended St. Catherines. They were looking for a scenic outdoor location that they felt comfortable in. And, like most new parents, they didn’t want to shoot the session inside their home.
Baby Caroline was named after her dad and her Great Grandfather. Both are named Charles! Mom also found the name Caroline deep in her own family tree. The family decided to pick the feminine version of the name Charles to carry on the traditional name from both sides.
Mom and Dad’s advice for parents of newborns?
“Do your best to ignore how messy the house is getting and just enjoy the newborn phase!”
I asked for some insight into what their family dynamic looks like. Mom described Dad as the ‘rock’ who keeps everyone calm, but who is also full of energy and brings all the fun! Mom is the organizer and planner of the bunch. She is perfectly happy to sit back and have Dad pack in all the fun! Baby Caroline’s personality is developing more and more each day and both Mom and Dad described it as one of their favorite parts of watching her grow.
During their session, it was easy to see their family dynamic in action! Dad was holding baby Caroline up in the air (safely of course!) and she gave him the biggest sweetest smile you ever did see! When it came to Mom and baby’s portraits, sweet baby Caroline was so at ease and relaxed with her head nestled in Mom’s loving hands.
